Oven After a Busy Weekend: Cleaning and Joint Inspection

Vitcas brush and scraper for suitable oven cleaning

After an intense weekend, ash, deposits, and food residues remain in the oven. Cleaning is worth combining with the inspection of areas frequently touched by tools. Plan the work according to the device instructions, taking into account the temperature and the method of handling residues.

Prepare the place and tools

Vitcas brush and scraper is used for proper cleaning of the oven surface. Inspect the head, bristles, and mounting before you start. A tool that leaves loose elements should not return to the baking surface without assessing its condition.

Prepare an appropriate place for removed residues and storing equipment. Do not assess the ash temperature solely by the appearance of the surface layer. Follow the device rules regarding residual heat and further storage of residues.

Clean without changing the lining

In the Vitcas outdoor oven, the cleaning method should correspond to the chamber and floor. Do not pry the edges if the scraper catches on an unevenly positioned element. Moving parts require assessment, not stronger pressing of the tool.

Do not pour water onto a hot surface or introduce an accidental chemical agent. If a specified wet method is allowed, consider the required subsequent drying. The appearance of a clean bottom does not confirm its readiness after getting wet.

Record changes before the next firing

Inspect the floor, entrance, and joints when cold. Outdoor Oven Cement may be used for compatible joints, but the choice of repair should depend on the type of damage. Do not apply a new layer to a loose brick without assessing its support.

Note the date, location, and a photo of the crumbling. In the next cycle, compare the same point. Such a record will allow distinguishing the residue from a single tool impact from a gradually developing change that requires recognition of the construction or usage conditions.
